A place accursed and forlorn, with walls of books piled high
it's windows stare like sightless eyes, and through them phantoms fly
of leather and of paper built, worm eaten through and through
the castle known as Shadow hall brings every nightmare true.
I'm reading "Die Stadt der Träumenden Bücher" (The City of Dreaming Books) again, and wanted to draw castle Schattenhall (I'd translate it withshadowreverb) after reading that poem up there ^^ (I really love that book
).
The main charakter is a lindworm, hence the strange figure.
And the castle looks too much like a city... but it was suposed to be a speed painting, so its ok I guess...
The drawing is based on the description in the book, when the main charakter first sees the castle, which goes like this: At the foot of the castle, left and right of the stairs, lava was bubbling in hundreds of small craters and covered the building with a golden glow
